I have enjoyed the heck out of Disney Plus thus far.

My wife watches The Nat Geo stuff, Dr. Oakley, African Lions, and last night, Life Below Zero. (Those people are nuts.)

I've enjoyed The Simpsons and all the old 90's Saturday morning cartoons and the Disney after school cartoons. Plus, The Mandalorian is great. It's worth the 7 bucks a month for me.

That's pretty much it.

Oh, I did watch the first 2 episodes of The Mandalorian, and it's pretty darn good. I highly recommend it for your viewing experience.

I'm traveling for Thanksgiving which I really don't want to do because I've had a few injuries lately and a long (probably 3 hour+) car ride sounds like hell. At the same time, I kinda feel like I have to go. And, if I don't, I'll be stuck alone for Thanksgiving, which would also kinda suck. Not sure what's the worse option out of the two. FML either way.

A few injuries? Just say Auot Erotic Asphyxiation.

I'm in the midsle.of prepping Thanksgiving dinner. I'm scrubbing pots and pans, and the dishwasher is constantly going right now. It's just Wednesday, but I plan on doing the cornbread and sausage dressing today, and the potato salad as well, because it can hold over night, and cold potato salad is better than room temperature potato salad. The rest will be cooked tomorrow, and that's mac and cheese, green beans, and mashed potatoes.

I am not cooking a Turkey because I don't really like Turkey, and the effort to keep it moist, juicy, and delicious is not worth the final results. My father in law is smoking a Turkey in a smoker over pecan and hickory for like 12 hours, and I will eat that. (Eat that on leftover sammiches)

I'm cooking a ham, and a roasted chicken which I already have in a Brine. So that will be enough. Sides will be roasted Brussel sprouts and sweet potato casserole.

I'm broke for the next month. Bills and more bills and stuff for the wife have left me in a budget crisis.

I have 20 bucks for Black Friday to buy one game here are my choices.

Resident Evil 2 Remake
Devil May Cry 5
Days Gone

Those are my choices, and I would like your input.

(Know that your input will be considered, but ultimately ignored.)

There are still huge problems with Supergirl. Her stupidity in very obvious situations, the villain of the week stuff can be dumb, and other misgivings. However, last season, not the current one, managed to balance the political stuff, female empowerment, and good story telling at the same time. Therefore, to answer what P.O. asked, the show has improved from it's first season on The CW, but it's still not the beat thing in the world.

It's not the diversity that irks me, it's that it seems like a third of every episode has to grind to a halt to shoehorn it in. Sure there's a villain tearing up the city that we need to stop, but here is 10-15 minutes of mandatory lesbian relationship drama first.

It does that for straight relationships too. After all it is a CW show, and those are some of the tropes, but it rings false just to point out the same sex relationships.

I guess it's like when you buy a new nee car, all of a sudden you begin to notice that other people have the same color and make of car a lot more often. So, if you're looking for same sex relationship drama you're going to find it.

Nevertheless, I recognize the criticism, but it happens in comics too. The relationship drama is peppered before, during, and after the villain attacks.

I should have clarified that you cannot ever leave the island, but I mean why would you? The outside world is a giant poop show for the most part, and as I ge th older my youthful optimism isn't so optimistic anymore. Therefore, going forward just assume you can't leave the Island.

As for Supergirl and Batwoman too, two shows I watch with my wife every week, I don't mind the same sex agenda and liberal slants. Considering that I'm in an interacial marriage in the deep south, my in laws won't talk to me because ue I am black, and some of my closest friends are gay, it never bothers me that the story lines are so diversity.

In fact, my wife and I went to lunch Saturday afternoon, and I hot out of the car, and waited while my wife hor my wheelchair. I van walk, bit sometimes it's easier to use the chair if we are waiting for long periods of time, and as I waited this old white lady stared at a with utter disgust. I yelled, "Did you want to help he handicapped black man and his black wife, because you see something you like or dislike?" She scoffed and walked inside the restaurant.

So yeah, I have no problem. With the content of the CW shows. They aren't the best quality, but network television is not that good anymore anyway, but it's good background noise as I play with my Switch.

My wife got another promotion at work, and with that it brings a new work schedule for her. Sure, she gets more power and more money, but it's not always about power and money is it?

Anyway, she's working later hours with different days off starting next week, and that just leaves me more time to play video games. Black Friday is coming up, and there are some good sales on games I would not normally buy at full price. Those games are going to get me through the first of the year until Final Fantasy in March.

Thanks for keeping the topics and conversation going in a Geeky fashion. Thanks to the regulars and all the lurkers for slowly creeping the message count to 500, we love you, so stunning, so brave.

You know the rules: Post anything Geek or Nerd related. Whether it's about video games, movies, music, comics, television, board games wrestling, etc.

As per usual we have an opening question to keep the conversation going.

If you were stuck in a tropical paradise with food, water, shelter, the Internet, and your health in tact, but for that reward you only get to play 5 video games for the rest of your life, what 5 games, would you bring with you, and why?

Bonus Question: What 5 games would you not bring because they would make the paradise a nightmare?

Wrap up from "Valley of the Geeks" in the upcoming post.

200 isn't a bad price for a Switch. You're going to get great first party support, and a lot of dumb down ports of great games you can get a lot cheaper, that play better on better nd other consoles, but if you're in the market for a good first party console, The Switch isn't a bad choice.

Just checking in, nothing new to report.

I voted today. Old people love to vote. I think they stay alive just to vote. My wife says that we went too early to see the young people, but young people don't vote, at least not in blocks or waves like old people.

And finally a black cat ran out onto the field for the Cowboys Giants game last might. It might be a terrible omen for the season, but the resulting videos and memes are hilarious and worth the ridicule as a Cowboys fan.

My wife didn't want to see Joker, and so I'm left waiting for it to hit HBO or streaming, so I can watch it by myself. Marriage is about compromise, and by compromise, I mean I do whatever she wants so the peace can be kept.

In fact, we actually had a fight Thursday night about that same topic. I told her that I pretty much have to do whatever she wants so I get some peace of mind. She said that wasn't true, and I went point by point all the things I have to do to make her happy. Then I said that I only ask her to not drop her clothes in the middle of the floor because I'm in my wheelchair, and her items block my rolling path. She started crying and it just ballooned into an argument.

Not sure who else is married in this topic, but I can't be alone with this problem right?

As much as I like the new Batwoman show, Ruby Rose is an adorable lesbian, I feel like I'm better served reading the comics run from a few years ago.

Also, most of the side characters aren't that important or interesting. It is weird to complain that the worst part of a Batwoman show is that Batwoman is too great that it makes the other characters so much worse. It's just season one, and things can improve. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Rough day at dialysis. I yelled at a nurse, and might get reassigned to a different clinic. She was a wench to me all morning long, and she got in my face after I politely told her to walk away. Her boss even left me alone after I politely asked her to do so as well, but she came back, and I lost my cool. 4 hours of painful dialysis and no sleep will make you a bit grumpy. I was wrong to cuss her out, but it wasn't without reason.

Apparently they want me to run an extra hour each day to meet some bull crap clearance number, and with my wife's work schedule it's literally not possible. My brother died earlier this year, and he can't pick me up from the grave, my other brother, Oreon, works overnight, and can't pick me up. It's literally not possible, but no one listened.

I said it's not possible, they said more words that did not include, "I understand" or "We can figure something out" and after a few minutes I snapped. It was not a good day. Not sure what's going to happen, or what we are going to do, but an extra 3 hours of painful chest needles a week isn't happening.

They changed the broadcast line up on Raw. I just put it on mute, and fast forwarded to get to the stuff I cared about. Which turned out to be very little. When it wasn't on mute I played Octopath Traveler, and pretended that it was a better product, the show, not the game. I did watch New Japan, and those matches were actually good. Commentary, not so much.

Watched NXT tonight, and the wrestling itself was pretty darn good.

However, we have to talk about the elephant in the broadcast booth. Renee Young.

I'm all for giving women a chance in a male dominated industry like Pro Wrestling, but she is just terrible at her job. Just awful. Her timing is horrible, she has no chemistry with anyone she works with, and offers no insight into the match at all. Also, her voice gets on my nerves lately. It's about as bad as Troy Aikman with Joe Buck doing football games.

Just my thoughts.

For the married people, or people living with a lady or guy friend, do you find yourself always pulling their hair out of your hair or food? I bring this up because I just found a long red hair in my head of hair a minute ago. Growing up black, all of my family's hair was short and black, and this just never happened.

But now at least once aweek I find myself finding long red hair in my hair, in my bags, and worse, in my food. Which is terrible because I do 98% of the cooking, and I still find myself eating hair. I had rice and beans and hair yesterday after dialysis.

Apparently red heads shed more than normal women, or that's what my wife tells me. I have not been to Google to confirm this, it must be true or I wouldn't consume so much hair. Therefore, I'm asking if this happens to any of you too.

My whole philosophy with women is to be like a catchy song. If I'm around long enough, and say enough funny, charming, and smart things, they will eventually remember me, realize how awesome I am, and then bam... after ten years I'm their man. This is a long term plan for a girl you want to marry.

Now if you just want a chick to bang just be an A Hole. The bigger the A hole you are the more they like you. Money and being well dressed helps, but mostly if you just want a fling, be a jerk. I wish it was more complicated, but the type of girls that are hot and you want to just be with for a short while aren't impressed by your charm or sophistication. They want a good looking jerk who can help their social media ratings. My personal belief is that a girl under 30 really isn't worth dating. they aren't ready.

And yes... Jerrah is apparently going with Pollard as the featured back. His ACL will tear by the third quarter.

I know the following is going to happen to my Cowboys this season, because lot of these things always happen to them. Some might be specific year to year, but in general it's set in stone.

Jerrah Jones will take some of the Johnny Walker Blue ruining through his veins, instead of blood, and declare that the burning ship isn't on fire after a 4 game losing streak.

Dak will hold onto the ball way too long, and fumble a lot, get sacked a lot, and get hurt, or throw a lot of interceptions, or all of them.

Zeke will get over paid, show up sometime in the season just to get hurt.

Jason Garrett will clap. A lot.

We will win a Game we have zero logical reason of winning, and everyone will over react especially Jerrah.

We will end up 8-8, and next year's Superbowl hopes will begin in January.

Saying all if that we are winning The Superbowl.

I have not had a solid comic book subscription in over a decade. Back when I use to work at a Comic store part time, and I hung out with my friends there every Saturday. Back before I was sick and before I was married.

Now I just keep up with comics from reviews on various ious websites and Wikipedia. I just don't have the time and money to spend on comics; when I can just be selective with graphic novels after a run is over, if I'm interested in the book. It just saves time and money which is definitely more precious as I get older.

Getting slammed hard on a dumb little Kristen Wiig shoot here, want to actually post some stuff, especially relating to the Disney stuff. But for now: Palpatine officially confirmed...

...But there's almost no way they explain HOW he's still alive that won't be completely awful.

Like, the ONLY way that even begins to make sense is that Palpatine learned to conqueror death via Darth Plague's teachings (we'll ignore how that allowed him to also survive the Death Star blowing up, and how fucking lame this is and how it totally cheapens the end of RotJ). And even then, they will almost certainly not give proper screen time to explain how and why we even need a reborn Palpatine, how this fits into the established arc of this current trilogy, etc.

Somehow, this trilogy is going to end up worse than the prequels.

Worse than The Prequels... I'm not sure. The first 45 minutes of The Last Jedi were pretty good. After that... let's not talk about that at all. The Force Awakens isn't a bad film at all, not like Attack of the Clones or lots of the Phantom Menace.

I do however agree with you that nothing J.J throws out will make sense when it comes to explaining how The Emperor is back, why it took 30 something years for it to happen, and why? Plus, the tease of a Dark Side Rey is just a tease as I don't think they have the balls to turn her evil and make it stick. Hell, they can't make Palpatine's death permanent.

I have seen Perer rip off the sides of buildings, plaster, and dry wall with just his finger tips. Therefore, his combined mutated strength with his ability to cling or strip off non human material means logically he could peel flesh from the bone or from an opponent with ease.

However, it is Peter, and he would never do such a thing, which is a shame, because a lot of his enemies would never mess with hin again if he peeled their flesh after a battle or even during a battle.

Marvel (Disney) and Sony could not come to terms with keeping my boy, Spider-Man in The MCU. Disney wanted a 5%"First dollar Gross" on the next two potential films, and Sony wanted a 50/50 split. Kevin Feige said, "No Way" because they did all the work and should get more, Sony refused to talk to him anymore, and the deal fell apart.

Far From Home made 1.1 Billion dollars, and is Sony's highest grossing film ever. It would make sense for this deal to get done, but money tends to change a lot of things, and blinds most men.

Because Final Fantasy VII is beloved by almost everyone. Final Fantasy VIII is often seen as a giant misstep in the franchise.

Then there is the fact that Final Fantasy VII is a remake, and Final Fantasy VIII is just an HD remake. One took a few years to redue, the other has taken 8 to 9 years.

Final Fantasy VIII remaster is arriving on September 3rd. It's been literally 19 years since I picked up the game. If Square told me they were fixing The Junction System I would be down for the struggle again, but as it stands, I just don't think I want another 60 to 80 hours of broken gameplay. I can just get the story highlights on YouTube.

Instead I'm going to wait for a piece drop on the Grandia HD collection, because Grandia has one of the beat turn based battle systems in all of JRPG's, and a decent story too.

Ewan McGregor was the best thing about the Star Wars prequels. He was the only one really trying for an extended period of time. That's why it's good news that he's coming back to reprise the role for a new series on Disney plus.

I'm not sure of the quality of the series, not to be like P.O. and be cynical, but it's probably going to be bad to mediocre. Let's hope the story, cast, writers, and directors all pan out, and this turns out to be a worthwhile endeavor.

I'm too new to NXT for Vince and company to start fooling with it. That'll just make me want to watch AEW that much more. ... But, hey, if they leave 205 Live alone, that's all right by me, even if it means I have to watch the Singh Brothers almost every week. :-P Worst comes to worst, I'll just fire up You Tube and see if Ring of Honor has stopped sucking a bit in the past few months.

Meanwhile, in a different sport, how sad is it that I'm trying to decide among different indoor football leagues to watch during the NFL off season? Those put all their games on You Tube, at least, even if the rules are wacky. ... I really miss the Alliance, even if the AAF couldn't finish a single season.

What's wrong with the NFL or Collge football? I know the speed and quality of college isn't up to par with the NFL, but it's not all horrible. I live on SEC country so our football is the best.

As for the NFL, a lot of the rule changes have made it close to two hand touch. Just curious as to why the boycott for the most part?

P.O. hates tomatoes. (Laughs) No BLT for you. However, my wife loves tomatoes, but she's a country girl. I've seen her eat tomatoes right from the farmer's market like they were apples or peaches. I've also seen her slice the tomatoes, add some salt and pepper, and put them on white bread with mayo and a slice of cheese, and crush that sammich with some sweet tea. She's hard core into tomatoes and hard core country girl too.

I'm looking for some good turn based RPGs on the PS4. I'm probably going to pick up Borderlands 3, but with football season starting and The Cowboys needing to pay every offensive player under the sun, the hopes of my team being good are rather tiny. Therefore, I nerd a relaxing RPG I can have fun with and grind when the games are horrible.

I have already beaten Persona 5 and Dragon Quest 11. Just looking for something solid to fill my time.

Sorry for the delay. A new dialysis schedule plus I fell down and injured my elbow and hip. My blood pressure dropped dangerously low as I was walking out of dialysis, and I took a spill to the hot hard concrete. I am not 100%, but after a few days in the hospital I'm back home, and recovering.

You know the rules: Post anything geek related, whether that's movies, films, television, comic books, video games, board games, wrestling etc. If it's geek related then we share it here.

Opening topic to keep the conversation going:

What is your favorite Food and drink? Spare no details on what whets your appetite and palette. It can span the history of your lifetime especially from your childhood.

Bonus question: What food do you absolutely hate? Also, what combo of food and drink is your favorite? Like Peanut butter and jelly and a cold glass of milk.

Wrap up from Potdmon in the upcoming post.
